Danielle Lee Engelke is a force for financial empowerment, guiding women business owners to prosperity and freedom. With a passion for finance from a young age, Danielle pursued an Undergraduate Degree in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Finance with a concentration on Strategic Execution, accrediting her with 7 years of collegiate financial studies. Post-college, Danielle stepped into a corporate finance role for one of the largest financial institutions in downtown Chicago. After several years working in finance, Danielle’s life took a turn: she was engaged, quit her finance job, and moved to a new city to start a new life with her fiance. However, an abrupt and unexpected breakup left her vulnerable. She was in a new city, without a job, and not a lot of savings.
With the pressure to make something work, Danielle leaned into her passion for fashion and launched Shop D. Lee, an e-commerce clothing boutique that she scaled to 7-figures. However, while building her company and despite having two finance degrees and years of corporate finance experience, Danielle still fell victim to many financial mistakes common with entrepreneurs: getting trapped with bad loans with bad terms, holding herself back because of a negative money mindset, and believing financial myths about what it takes to grow and scale.
Danielle Lee Engelke
While Danielle was able to learn and rise above these lessons, she felt embarrassed that someone with as much financial education and experience as her made these mistakes. That was until Danielle began to speak with and mentor more female entrepreneurs. There, she would hear the stories of incredibly intelligent women making the same financial mistakes or having the same negative financial mindsets she had held. She recognized a pattern many female entrepreneurs fell into, too — leaving them vulnerable and stuck beneath their potential.
With a desire to uplift female entrepreneurs, Danielle launched Money Therapy, a full-service, white-glove financial services company that supports female entrepreneurs in strategically aligning, growing, and scaling their businesses with the services for CEOs to achieve prosperity and freedom in their work and personal lives. Danielle’s feminine approach marries her financial and entrepreneurial expertise, all of which have successfully helped over 100 female entrepreneurs, many of whom have gone on to build 7- to 8-figure companies, all while working less and with more ease and enjoyment.
